I asked a person who studies these conflicts for a living, and who has been involved with Invisible Children about the current controversy. Since I know very little about either of those things. And wouldn’t you know it, she gave a totally reasonable, well-measured and non-hyperbolic answer to a difficult question.
The most worrisome part to me is the advocacy for military action in areas of the world that we can’t possibly understand in any nuanced way by wearing a bracelet. Other than that, I’m totally on board with shining a spotlight under the rocks these execrable worms hide under.
